Ghoster is now out and about in the house and is currently fast asleep in a soda carton. By the time I got back to the house Sunday after picking up her food she was out from under the bed. By Wednesday she made a couple ventures out of her room to explore. By Friday she was downstairs all day. The introductions to the other cats went fine - only a couple of hisses, but only when one would come around a corner and suprise the other. The other cats' food went up on the counter and on the table. The table is now ruled out since Ghoster now realizes she can jump. Hope she doesn't make it up on the counter. I'm feeding her 1/4 cup of W/D twice a day. Since I work evening shift, I feed her late in the morning and when I get home from work. When I'm off I can tell she's used to eating around 6pm since she spends her time in the kitchen rubbing against my legs. I read in her history she liked a cardboard scratching box. I put mine up in her room and she went to town. She's a catnip junkie too. She's a great cat. Thank you for caring for her.

Winky is doing just fine. He is definitely getting used to his new surroundings. I live in a townhouse and he loves the top stairs and hallway. He also loves the box my son puts in the hallway for him since that is where he prefers to be. The last picture if of my son and Winky. My son fell asleep on the floor with the cat one evening.

Almost two weeks ago we brought home an adorable little kitten whom we have renamed Oreo. We were first worried about the dog we already owned not taking to her, but they have quickly become best friends. We could not be happier with our new little girl and we can't wait to watch her grow. She opened up to us the first night we brought her home and has been quite the enjoyable little maniac since then. Thank you so much to everyone at Lucky Cat, especially Fran and Denise who made our lives that much happier to have a new addition to our family.

It has been over a year (March 5, 2009) since I adopted Chip (previously Sunshine) and Max (previously named Shadow), two brothers from the Lucky Cat Rescue at Petco in Bel Air. I thought I would share a picture of them living the life of Raleigh! Chip has the top seat, with Max lounging in the middle. Bugsy, my black cat, was a stray with a broken leg who came to live with me in late 2008. I adopted Chip and Max so Bugsy would have a friend. All three absolutely adore each other, and I adore them. Just thought I’d share with you. They are loved and very well taken care of. Thanks!

Shiloh (Donatello) is great! My best friend and family have adjusted to her and love her just as much as me. She's like having a little kid. She loves being pet and playing with stuff. It's cute. Im so glad I have her. Thanks to you guys for allowing me to have her!

Just wanted to let you know how Mazda and Mercedes are doing. They are doing amazing! They are growing and they are very spoiled. They have so many toys and lots of different treats. Mercedes is pretty laid back and calm with everyone now, except for strangers. She loves to cuddle with me and she has to blankets that she claims as hers. She loves to sleep with me every night. Mazda on the other hand is very shy. He runs from everyone except my mom and I. He is very close to my mom and he sleeps with her almost every night. Once she gets up for work though, he migrates into my bed. Mazda loves to be help and Mercedes hates it. My dad is attached to them but Mercedes is the only one who will go to him. Mazda still runs from him. Mazda and Mercedes are so cute together. They love to play together and I'm so glad they were able to stay together because they just wouldn't be the same without each other! Mazda likes to pick on his sister but Mercedes keeps him in check. Sometimes when he picks on her, she will grab him around the neck and start to kick him in the forehead haha. We have a fish tank, luckily its pretty high up, but they like to get on their back legs and reach up to the tank and watch the fish as they swim around. They cry because they can't get them. They also like to sit at the windows and watch the birds. Mazda seems to talk to the birds, he makes these little crys or chirps, I think he gets mad because he can't get to them. They love laser pointers. We play with them everyday with it so they get plenty of exercise. We point it up and down the hallways and they run back and forth.. I call them my football players because they run and try to tackle it. Mazda loves the toy you gave us. The circle with the ball in it. He lays on the floor and pushes the ball for long periods of time, almost every night. Hes learned how to make the ball go really really fast. He is so cute when he plays with that toy. When we first adopted them, we bought them a "cat tree" and they love to climb it. Mazda is mean sometimes though. Mercedes will be laying on the very top and Mazda will jump to the second level and smack at her until she gets up, and then he steals her spot. He is definitely her brother haha. Its cute because they both have their "spots" in the house. Mercedes loves to lay under my moms feet, or on the couch next to me, or under my bed, or under blankets, or on her 2 favorite blankets. Mazda loves to lay in "his" pink bed, the top of his cat climber, under my moms bed, or on top of her bed in the middle.. he also likes to lay in my moms lap. They lay in the funniest positions. We are soo happy to have them in our home. They make us so happy and we think they are pretty happy too. They cuddle with us and purr all the time. They have no problem coming up to us and showing us that they love us. Thank you so much for my babies. I'll send you another update in a few months.

This is Fonzi (formerly Tiny Tim) who has a bunny for a friend! When the bunny comes up to our door(every day) and looks in, I go out with a carrot and hold it in my hand while the bunny nibbles on the other end. Fonzi sits right at the screen door and watches the bunny eat. Fonzi sometimes rolls over on his back with his whole belly showing and puts his paws on the screen (like he wants to touch the bunny) and just lays there and watches the bunny in that position. Fonzi loves that bunny!

We met with Cindy at Petco in Golden Ring on Friday night to meet Carlos. We ended up taking him home and he adjusted so quickly. Within an hour of coming home, he was jumping all over us and purring. He slept on our bed that night and last night. He follows us around and purrs all of the time... he just wants to be with us. My 21-month old son follows him all around, and Carlos lets him pet him with no trouble. Today, I had my son on the changing table and Carlos actually jumped up and laid down right next to him. He (Carlos) also has no qualms about climbing all over my son. He really is a remarkable kitten and we are so blessed to be his family now. He's laying by me sleeping as I type this. Thanks for such an awesome kitty and please let his foster family and Cindy know that he's doing great! We all love him!

I just want to tell you how much I love my new member of the family. We renamed him to Boo Boo - my husband's idea. Well Boo Boo is a doll!! I still miss my cat Maggie but I think she would approve very much of Boo Boo. He snuggles with me everywhere I go and if he can't find me, he snuggles with my husband. He sleeps between both of us every night - he is a big boy so he really keeps us warm! He has many toys and a brand new collar with his name and number on it. I love him so much! He gives me a hard time with taking pictures but I'll work on that and send pictures when I can!! Thank you so much for this precious gift - Boo Boo will have a wonderful life with me and my husband!!!
Linda S. "Mom of Boo Boo (Paca)"

I went to visit "Daddy Jack" today (my sister's father-in-law who adopted Poet/Babe) so I could see how she's doing and provide you with an update. She definitely has settled in and considers the house HERS!! Her toys are everywhere! Daddy Jack is so happy to have her. She follows him around the house like a dog, sleeps with him, and gets up in his lap when he sits down. I've included some pictures to show you how comfortable she is in her new home. She has a cat tree in the front window that Daddy Jack says she'll get on periodically and watch out the window. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that it was a good match and both Daddy Jack and Babe are happy to be together.

Hello Lucky Cat Rescue. It has been six months since we adopted Otis (formally known as Jack). Andreas and I are so happy with him, especially Andreas. Otis is energetic and unruly. He's very vocal when he's happy or sad, and he's immediately comfortable with everyone he meets. I think he reminds Andreas of Andreas as a boy. It's hard to imagine that was the same scrawny little one I brought to you in July, who'd rode to my workplace in the car engine of a coworker. In the end as you remember, I couldn't forget about him. And he's been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you again for Otis and all you do.
Lisa and Andreas

I wanted to show you a picture of "Dumpy". We adopted him a year ago at the Golden Ring pet store. We re-named him Casper. He is such a lovable boy. He has adapted well with our two other cats and loves to play with them. He wakes me up every morning jumping in and out of my bed, but will not talk to me until I open an eye and then all bets are off. He sure lets me know then that he is hungry. Thank you so much for allowing him to come into our home. He has brightened our lives.
Stephanie

It's been more than a year since Sophie has been our close family member. I just thought that you would like to know how she has been since we last contacted. Sophie has been the sweetest cat ever. She loves inviting herself to our laps and she never stop craving for human contacts. Tural and I have been feeling very fortunate to have Sophie as our first cat and we doubt if any other cat can be better than her. We simply love her. Tural and I would really like to thank Lucky Cat Rescue, especially you (Lisa) as Sophie's foster mom, saving countless of nice kitties like Sophie. We cannot imagine not having her in our family. Happy new year to you, your family, and all members of Lucky Cat Rescue team.
Regards, Sheil & Tural

This is Daphne and Freddie (formerly Kip and June). We are off to a super start. They have their own room for starters which is the spare room, my pseudo home office, which translates into lots of stuff to climb in and on and over and office supplies (they love paper and paper clips). My son splurged on a bunch of silly toys and got Daphne to do one of her air flips much to his delight. They seem to be settling in, playing, relaxing a little and exploring A LOT. Jack is currently a big Scooby Doo fan and I thought Daphne was perfect for our pretty little girl, and my husband convinced me that Freddie was the fearless leader of Mystery Inc. I wanted Kip to have a name that suited his handsome demeanor!
Janeane and Family

Hi... Just wanted to give an update on my Lucky Cat, Chaos (formerly Rambo when she was in Foster Care with Fran). Chaos adjusted very quickly to her new home and is a happy and playful kitten. I live with my elderly grandparents and they absolutely love her and often play with her and talk to her. Chaos usually talks back :) She loves to be around people and even plays with my Aunt's Yorkshire Terrier when they come over. My 11 year old cat, Mischief, is starting to adjust to having a kitten in the house. We are so happy to have Chaos living here with us and she's sitting on the computer desk next to me watching me type. :)

This is Elijah (formerly Harry Potter) and Mario (formerly Blaze). They are living the good life now!

PeaBow has been a wonderful addition to our family. He is warm, lovable, and down right adorable. Gratitude and deep appreciation for Vicki's heroic actions and dedication to PeaBow. He now is known affectionately as Peeps and PeaBow Price. We can't imagine our life with out him!!!!!!! You, Vicki and Belinda have made our lives complete. Lucky Cat Rescue has been fabulous and we will always be greatly indebted to your organization!!!!!!
Maggie, Nicole, and PeaBow Price

Just wondering if you ever wonder how some of your rescue efforts turn out? I got her two years ago at Petco Bel Air. As you can see she's healthy and gorgeous!!
John

Hi this guy is Willie Underfoot. He's our new cat,or should I say we're HIS new humans! See, we thought he was a different outside cat Willie that we were helping feed for a friends after she had to move to help her family. One day he finally came out of the woods and was at our door. We let him in and he made himself right at home. The next day we got toys,a little house, lots of treats and litter. He was already the BOSS!! We started talking to Patti about updating his shots so when she came over we noticed he was not neutered. Man did we have a laugh : ) What a great help Patti has been!! She got his shots and all that done. All this in about 3 weeks. If not for the mix- up, Willie Underfoot may not have had a home. I guess GOD had other plans though. We love him so much XOXOXO. Thank you Patti & all the "LUCKY CAT" family. Peace to all!
Mark and Tammy

Wellington is busy playing with that string toy that was bought last week at the cat show. He tells me that he is content with his new digs, and he has shown me his favor by purring loudly when I pet him. He still considers the dogs as boors, and creatures of his contempt, but he has not chased them around and allows them to sleep on the bed with my husband. The fish and the bird are objects of intense interest, and he appears to enjoy watching the toilet flush, and drink water out of the tub when I run the water. I was tempted to run the shower to see what he'd do, but I restrained myself as I think he would not be pleased. I am beginning to cut back on his food and treats because he is loving life a little too much for his waistline. Weight gain is not good for his health and he wants me to keep him as happy and healthy as possible. What a cool cat!
Joanne

Little Ellwood adopted May 4th is growing so fast. He is now just shy of 8 lbs. Eight pounds of energy and curiosity. He tries to get in the refrigerator when I open the door, crawls in the dishwasher when I unload it and goes in every open cupboard door. In the early morning hours before I go to work my neighbor taps on the bay window to say hi to Ellwood while she is walking her dog. I have a huge bay window and in the morning it gets the sun. This is a favorite napping spot. He has gotten all his shots and been micro-chipped, because while he is only indoors, I feel you can never be too safe. By the way the two glowing spots in the background are big sister Bailey.
Cheryl

We have had Mario for a year now and we just love him to death. After battling a respiratory infection, gastrointestinal problems and an ear infection, he's fully recovered and a big (16.5 pounds) healthy boy! We knew he had a rocky start in life but we didn't know how bad it was until we had him xrayed for his digestive issues. We found that his leg had been shattered. The vet didn't know what caused it and stated that it could have been anything ranging from an attack by a dog or human to a car accident. I was that his will to live was so strong that he managed to heal while living on the streets...no small feat! Mario is the most "dog-like" cat I have ever met. He follows us all around, comes galloping over when called from the other side of the house and has an enormous appetite. We've even clicker trained him to give a high five!! I suspect that we might even be able to walk him on a leash. He's absolutely fearless and even hangs out in the same room while we're vacuuming. What cat does that???? I can't imagine living without him and I'm so glad we were able to give him a good home!
Toni

Wendy is now named Lily and she is fantastic. We just adore her. She is doing very well and I think adjusted rather quickly. She is such a sweet cat. We are lucky to have her. I think she is liking her new home! Her favorite pastime is to play with her bouncing balls or her cat and mouse. We play ball every night and I try to get it in for a 1/2 hour to an hour...of course, sometimes I fetch the ball more than she does - but she enjoys watching me...haha! And she cuddles with us every night on and off but is quite happy to greet us with her wet nose as soon as the alarm goes off. We really enjoy her and are so grateful to have her as part of our family. I feel lucky to have found her through Lucky Cat Rescue
Jay and Traci

Just wanted to let you know that Midnight has been such a blessing to our family! My son has a second shadow. I am so glad we adopted him!

This is Thurston Howl III (formerly Gaylord) and Lovey. They are loving life in their new wonderful home!!!
Elaine

Hey folks! Just wanted to let everyone know that Aggie, formerly known as Rahat on the site, has settled in pretty well in our home. We're still working out the kinks, but she turned out to be a total lap cat! Anytime I'm sitting on the couch, she ABSOLUTELY MUST be in my lap or immediately next to me. She's the sweetest little thing!
Laura

We got Patrick (formerlly known as Brandon) in August 2005 at four months old. He is now over four years old and still living a super happy life! He got a step-brother, a chocolate lab, when he was about a year old and they are typical brothers mouthing off to each other at times, but get along well. He is SUCH a lap cat and comes when you call him at any time. He greets us at the door when we come home from work and LOVES laying at the end of the bed! Everyone loves Patrick, and he is very friendly to anyone who comes to our house. He will jump right up and wants attention! He is wonderful and I can't thank you guys enough for such an awesome cat!
Maryanna

Tanto, who is now named Charlie, is fitting right in! We are absolutely loving him! He is quite playful and also quite cuddly. He has made friends with our other animals, our two maltese dogs and our other cat. The other day, before we were leaving to go to the pool, I was trying to find him. I looked everywhere and he was nowhere to be found. I grabbed his food dish and shook it to see if he would show himself. Next thing I know, I look down and I see his cute little head poking out. I grabbed my cell phone camera and took a pic. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks!
Bonnie

I just wanted to give an update on Lola. I can't believe she is 2 years old now and she is an important spoiled part of our family!! I have recommended you guys to all my friends. I hope to keep a great relationship with Lucky Cat and will continue to donate to such a great program.
Dana

Kitty, formerly known as Phantom, has been with me over three years and is a very spoiled girl. She is very talkative, expressive, playful and super friendly - and is only afraid of thunder. She might be a lucky kitty but I am lucky too to have such a good friend.
Virginia

I wanted to let you know how Tara was doing. First of all she now goes by Reese; she even responds to it! She kind of has the same colors as a Reese cup, minus the white, but the name just fits her. She is very spoiled!! As soon as she came home she seemed pretty comfortable. She eats like a little piggy. Every night she comes up on the bed. She has her side and I have mine although some night she just sprawls out across the whole bed. It?s cute! And all of my friends, even people who don't like cats, just love her. She will jump up on their laps and just insist to be petted and purr. I am a bit of a neat freak, and she keeps all of her toys under the bed. It?s like she knows to put them away after she plays with them. She always drags them back under the bed where there is a dust ruffle which she just loves to stick her paws out and grab people by surprise!! She is just such a wonderful cat. I just love her!! I can tell you she makes my life better!! I was going to get her a cat bed but she really just loves to lie on my mine. Reese is always sprawled out like a queen on my bed. She has become quit a princess!! I don't know who is luckier, me or her?
Erin

Willow and Harley became fast friends hiding under the bed together on their first night in a strange new environment. Since then, this green- and amber-eyed pair makes mischief wherever they go. They have created Cat Olympics out of an array of household items and their own talents. When the games begin, there is wrestling and the 3-yard dash down the hall. This is often followed by slalom racing, the high jump (usually landing on a chair or couch with claws digging in to catch the fall), and sychronized napping. These beauties have livened up my home and provided endless hours of affection and entertainment. Thank you for giving them such wonderful foster care until they found their permanent home!
Jenny

Our Kitty Alice From The Williams Family!

As you can see Smokey (Peeping Tom)is finally home safe and sound. He is adjusting so well! Colin has decided to name him Smokey because he does look at you when you call him that. We figured it was a name that he obviously was used to and liked. We went and bought him a bright red color with a name tag, that Colin was sure to include our phone number and address. Colin picked out a red heart for the tag because Smokey is such a lovey cat!! Thank you so much for sharing him with us! I can never thank you enough!!
Susan and Colin

We love our girls Scarlet (Doris) and Gracie (Nellie). We can't imagine our family without them and are so happy to have them. They bring us joy everyday. Thank you for helping us get Scarlet and Gracie!
Abby and Jon

I adopted Lacey from Lucky Cat approximately 6 years ago. She has been a wonderful addition to our family! We rescued a kitten about 2 years ago from a trash dumpster, and named him Little Louie, which has now been changed to Fat Louie. Lacey wasn't so happy to share the spotlight at first, but has adapted well, although she does keep her distance from him. Lacey is a happy, healthy cat, we love her very much!Thank you, Lucky Cat!
The Foley Family

Leo is doing great! Our other cat Chelsea is slowly warming up to him. Leo follows everyone like a puppy dog! He has certainly made himself at home and seems to have adjusted just fine.

Thanks,
Amy

Teleigh, Rascal (LCR), and Jake (LCR aka Waldo) No house is complete without a third kitty!! They're living the good life now!!

Harry is a trip!! He is so cute and loves to play with Felix. He has made himself at home and is learning the ropes from the other two. He talks to us and he has really warmed up to my husband. Of course, I wanted another cat and they always warm up to him first, lol.

All is well...
Dawn V.

My husband and I adopted a kitten through Lucky Cat Rescue in September (his name was McCartney, but has been changed to Hamilton). I just wanted to let you know that that little kitten is such a joy! We couldn't love him more! Just thought you might want to hear a success story...and I can't help but include a photo or two of the little guy :)

Thank you for helping us adopt our wonderful cat!

Sincerely,
Katie McLaughlin

Parker and Macy were adopted a few months ago... now they are living the good life and are spoiled rotten!

I adopted Walter from Lucky Cat Rescue as a friend for my first cat, Lucky. It took a little while to introduce everyone, but Lucky and Walter are now buddies who enjoy cuddling together as well as playing and racing around my home. Shy at first, Walter now follows me from room to room -- he knows that I can't resist his purrs and invitations to give him backrubs and treats! Nothing makes me happier than waking up each morning with Walter and Lucky snuggled next to me on my bed. I want to thank Robin and the rest of Lucky Cat Rescue for giving Lucky and me such a sweet and loving friend!

I'm excited to see this on the website!

Thanks,
Anna

This is Jasmine (who was formerly known as "Cinnamon" when she was in foster care). Jasmine's new family writes:

Jasmine, who was known as Cinnamon is a great little kitty. She took no time in getting comfortable here at her new home. It wasn't until about the 2nd or 3rd day, we got to see her true personality. She is a hoot. She loves to play hide and seek and be chased as well as chasing us! Many times, she will hide and pounce unexpectedly, always in the most gentle way. It's absolutely adorable. She is also the most nosey, curious and klutzy cat I ever met. I absolutely adore her, she brings smiles and laughter to my face each and every day.

Thank you Lucky Cat Rescue and all the volunteers who work there. You guys do good stuff! :)

THANK YOU so very much for introducing me to Jasmine! :)

Molly

Josie and Nina are two lucky cats that found a wonderful forever home.

This is Mischief (who was formerly known as "Chaos" when he was in foster care). Mischief's new family writes:

We got Mischief home and he stayed in our bed room for the first night in the large kennel so we could make sure the other Lucky Kitties (Trouble, Pandora and Disaster) were ok with him?. We had some growling on both parties but no one swung a paw?. He explored our top floor of our house first and found a comfy spot on our bed to take a nap.

I believe he has fully explored the house by now and seems right at home? He likes wet food so we are giving him a little in the morning?

We will keep you up to date with pictures of Mischief as he does cute things.

Thank you again for letting us adopt him?

Becky and Jim Plummer

This is Lexie (who was formerly known as "Molly" when she was in foster care). Lexie's new family writes:

We adopted Lexie in November, shortly after our 14-year-old cat, Whiskers, passed away. Once we saw Lexie's little face, we knew she'd be perfect for our family. Lexie was only a tiny 9 week old kitten when we adopted her and she's now a 4 month old curious kitty (and growing up so fast!). She gets into EVERYTHING, but it's impossible to get mad at such an adorable face! Lexie is the most loving cat, loves to be held and cuddled, and often climbs onto people just to give them a kiss. She loves attention, and we're convinced she thinks she's a little person instead of a cat, as she often follows us around and tries to get into whatever we're doing. Everyone who comes in contact with her loves her because of her outgoing and playfully sweet personality. She's the perfect addition to our family.

We want to thank Lucky Cat for taking care of Lexie (and her sister, Gracie, brother, Joey, and mom) until we adopted her. We couldn't imagine her having to live on the streets without a family.

This is Mencken (who was formerly known as "Gator" when he was in foster care). Mencken's new family writes:

Hello!

We just wanted to update you on our Lucky Cat, Mencken. We adopted him one year ago now, and he has been such a great addition to our family and our lives. He is full of personality- his affection and mischievous antics warm our hearts and make us laugh. Thank you!

Chris and Stephanie Streb

This is Cooper (who was formerly known as "John" when he was in foster care). Cooper's new family writes:

Dear Cindy and Lucky Cat Rescue,

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to adopt a wonderful kitty. We have named him "Cooper" (formerly "John"). He is very happy in our home. He likes to play and cuddle with all of us. He and our older cat are still getting aquainted but I'm confident they will become best friends soon. Thank you again for a wonderful New Year's gift.

Yours truly,
Annette, Phil and Megan Young

Hi Sally!

Happy Holidays! Here are a couple pics of Ozzy? he is doing so great! Each day he is doing better and better and feeling more comfortable and playing more. He is such a sweetie and we love him!

Lauren Jordan

This is Bianca. She had a very rough start in life, but now she is living the good life in a wonderful forever home!

This is Krumpet, loving her new life as a Lucky Cat who got a forever home!

This is Olivia. She is adapting to her new home very well. The other animals are adapting quite nicely to her too. Her foster mom did a wonderful job socializing her.

She likes her dry food, but really loves the wet food we give her too :-)

Thanks again for all that you do to give cats a good life.

Wendy and Mark Warren

Rosie is definitely one of Lucky Cat's success stories... she went from being a homeless kitty to being a very much loved award-winning show kitty! Here is a picture of her at a cat show in PA where she won Best in Show out of the 18 cats that competed.

This is Baloo (who was formerly known as "Timothy" when he was in foster care). Baloo's new mom writes:

This grey handsome boy was introduced to me when I was working at Petco. His striking lime green eyes drew me in and snuggle bug personality. Never in my life did I ever think I would adopt a cat as my first pet because I was a known "dog person", until I met Baloo did my mind change. He is the sweetest, well-tempered cat I have ever met and most of the time we just cuddle and purr. He brightens my day and makes me look forward to coming home. My family fell for him instantly as well. What a charmer and how lucky am I to have received him into my life.

Erin was found along with her siblings and mama down around Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her mama and siblings all died from exposure and malnutrition. Erin was born with a congenital varus deformity of her back legs. She cannot bend at the knees. Sometimes she walks on her two front legs wtih her back legs up in the air. Most of the time she "swivvles" when she runs. And believe me, she does run!! Her deformity does not stop her at all. She climbs up the rope-covered pole in our basement all the way up to the ceiling. She plays "foster mommy" to our foster kittens, cleaning them, playing with them and correcting them when need be. She is best friends with my 60 lb. german shepherd. She is quite a fighter to have survived such a rocky start in life. We love her very much.

We have happily made a very cute addition to our family ... Introducing Bo (formerly Moon Glow)! Bo was four months when we got him, six months now and is keeping all of us on our toes! He's doing a nice job of bringing the other two, much more shy, kitties out of their shell. And as if he could get any cuter - we taught him how to fetch! Thanks once again, Lucky Cat!!

Over 2 years ago, Skippy started out as a "foster kitty" with Patty, then a Peabody Student. Skippy actually liked the "bassoon" instrument that Patty plays. Of course, Patty fell in love with Skippy, who is one of the sweetest kitties you ever want to meet, and she adopted him. Recently, Patty and Skippy headed west to live in Boulder, Colorado where she will attend school. Skippy is one happy kitty.

Cally (originally named Julia) was adopted by Terry and Craig Bachman. She now has a loving home where she can enjoy plenty of feline and human company. In a letter sent to Lucky Cat Rescue, Terry writes:

"She has brought so much joy and love to both of us."

Cally is most definately a Lucky Cat Rescue success story.

We had considered adopting a kitten for our son (our daughter has a dog and we have another cat from our before kids time) but on an innocent trip to the Bel Air Petco, Cheeto, as he was then called, made the decision for us. We fell in love immediately and when we held Cheeto, who is now known as Chester Cheetah, we knew we had to take him home. Once our application was approved, we picked Chester up from his wonderful foster Mom Amy and he's been adding to our lives (and the lives of our other pets) since. I've had many cats and he is truly one of a kind. He's gorgeous. He purrs all of the time and he even sits for treats (and expects to get a treat when the dog goes outside to do his business!). He has even been a foster big brother to a litter of abandoned kittens that we found. Our next cat will definitely come from Lucky Cat, too!

I wanted to take a moment to share my success story and take the opportunity to thank every volunteer for the time and effort that each person dedicates to Lucky Cat, without which I wouldn't have Abe & Mini. About 8 months ago I adopted these cats and it's been a tedious journey getting them acclimated to me and their new home, but I can say with confidence that we are now officially a success story! Abe & Mini (who are brother & sister) were strays that came from the Supermax prison in the city and when I adopted them they were about a year old and they were SCARED. They hid underneath their kitty bed for the first two days that I had them and wouldn't come out - I thought maybe I'd made a mistake. But one of the volunteers, Patti, helped me get through the first few weeks with them and we've been steadily progressing ever since. It took me several months before Abe would even let me pet him ... and now he curls up in bed with me every night (and Mini too). We're all very happy, thanks Lucky Cat!

"Fonzi" was the former Tiny Tim with Lucky Cat Rescue. Fonzi was named Tiny Tim because he was so small and had to be bottle fed. He is a sweet brown tabby with lots of personality from the time he was a little bitty kitten. His family absolutely loves him and shared the following story with us.

"Fonzi carries this ball everywhere he goes. He takes it to his bed and sleeps with it. He plays with it. He bats it all over the house. And here comes the part you won't believe, it is so cute:
If the ball goes under something like furniture or under a closet door. Fonzi will come and get me, look up at me and cry, I ask him what is the matter, then he runs into the room where the ball is, walks in front of the closet, back and forth, back and forth, the whole time looking up at you and crying, until you open the door of the closet, then he runs in and comes out with the silver ball that he accidentally hit under the closet door. OR, if the silver ball goes under the furniture, he will come and get you, and then crouch down and look under the furniture until you get a stick and bring out the ball for him.

Fonzi is like Lassie telling you that Timmy is in the Well!!!

Fonzi's mom said that Fonzi Fonzi allows us to live with him, so we can "fetch" his silver ball, and feed him."

A very happy beginning for a very Lucky Cat!!!

Hello,
I'm just writing an update on my happy kitties Romeo & Juliet. They are both very sweet cats & it's nice to be able to adopt adult cats since you can easily gauge their temperment. They're both great & take care of each other when I'm not home. They're especially fond of my bay window and my fish tank. (although I'm not sure how thrilled my fish are!) I enclosed some pictures from their new happy home.

Thanks!
John Keister

Troy was found in a wall with his siblings. The company of the building that he was stuck in had to pay someone to tear out the wall to get him and his siblings out. Troy was stuck very far into the wall and was much smaller than his siblings. At 7 weeks old, he was the size of a 2 week old kitten. After being bottle fed for an extended period of time, he was able to gain an appropriate amount of weight and is now happy, healthy and adopted.

Tiny Tim in his new home. Best baby sitter a family could have. Tiny Tim (black kitty) was found with a paw that likely had been broken off by someone. Best medical advice was to amputate the leg as there was infection in the bone. During this ordeal Tiny Tim showed what a loving kitty he is. Never once trying to bite or hurt the people who were trying to help him. Once healed he was adopted but a wonderful couple. Soon there was another new addition to the family. And again Tiny Tim's true loving nature shines through. He is the baby's constant sitter. He lets the family know if she needs attention he calls them if she stirs. He loves to be by her side.

I am the most beautiful kitty in the world i know because my MOM says so. She loves me and I love her. We are so happy. Thank You Lucky Cat for saving me and finding me the best home in the whole world.

When we found Fluffy she was very ill and tested positive for FIV. Medical Advice was to euthanize her. But she was fighting to live and we fought with her believing if she had the will and spirit we'd do what we could to help. We knew she's need a special home and she has found one. Miss Edna is a wonderful lady who needed a special friend to share her days. Some volunteers recently visited to help Miss Edna with grooming and could see the love between the two of them. A beautiful site. Thank you Miss Edna for giving a very special kitty a very special home.

Sally,
It's been three months since we adopted Pepper and Grace (aka Tabitha and Jax), and though we've been meaning to write this testimonial for quite some time, we've been simply having too much fun with our new family members. (As I type, Pepper is sitting on my lap watching the screen intently and Grace in nearby soaking up some sun rays from the window.)

Our beloved 12-year-old cat died in November and we knew we wanted to add to our family by adopting from a shelter. After scanning the internet and looking at several sites, we were impressed with the photos and descriptive information on the Lucky Cat Rescue website. From the very beginning we found our communications with Lucky Cat to be timely and helpful (including an easy on-line application), and we eagerly followed the progress of a certain litter whose mom had been killed in a farm machinery accident when they were five days old. Luckily this litter not only lived with a loving foster human family, but they were taken in by the resident cat who nursed the newcomers along with her own new litter. Our visit to the foster home completely sold us. Foster Mom Amy was obviously nurturing of her own family and pets along with the foster kittens, and her living room was the perfect kitty day-care with toys and a really nice climbing "kitty condo" that had been provided by Lucky Cat Rescue. Amy's young children had been giving the kittens lots of love too so they were wonderfully socialized. The paperwork was processed easily and we left that evening with our new kittens.

We are so blessed to have such healthy and loving cats that adore each other and fit seamlessly into our household. We feel that Lucky Cat not only saved these adorable creatures from a tragic start, but provided us with a very easy adoption process. The love and care they received contributed to two very special personalities and we are thrilled that we all found each other. We highly recommend Lucky Cat Rescue for their professionalism, friendliness and follow-through!

Gratefully,
Julie Lynn & Deb Shaw
